Bed jackets are rather out of fashion these days having had their heyday in the 1930's & 40's. They were glamourised in the Hollywood movies of that era-think Ginger Rodgers and Carole Lombard...being fabulous confection of silk, lace & feathers.

Where the stars led the rest of us followed and the bed jacket, being a very practical item, was very popular into the fifties but the era of the 60's mini skirt put an end to that!

Somehow the world has managed without the bed jacket for a long time now but they are still a very useful item and an awful lot nicer to wear than an old cardigan...

We looked very hard to find some nice ones, that we would like to wear, and finding it very difficult decided to get our own made up.

G.H. Hurt & Sons are the last surviving Nottingham framework knitters of a centuries old trade and they produce the sweet Pink Camellia ballet wrap bed jackets for us here in the UK.
